The ASGC program office has announced a statewide competition for underrepresented minority students.  Any students interested in STEM researcher or teaching STEM classes need to apply.  Application can be found on the documents page.

The Arkansas NASA EPSCoR Program plans to award four (4) $20,000 Research Infrastructure Development (RID) awards.  These awards will serve as “seed” money to promote team-based research activities that involve cooperation between researchers at two (2) or more ASGC campuses, government agencies, or industry.  Each awardee will receive one year of funding.

The ASGC Program Office released their Year 20 ASGC CPR Call for Proposals.  CRP awards are issued to form teams of Arkansas researchers and their students.  These teams are composed of personnel from at least two ASGC campuses.  Awards typically fund the formation of new research teams, meant to develop projects and seek funding from NASA or other federal or state agencies.  These “starter teams” have somewhat more money for their projects/topics, including student stipend or other funding. (Compare to Research Infrastructure awards)  CRP awards are for $15,000 a year, for three years.  Dates to remember: 

  • Proposal due to the ASGC Office October 15, 2009
  • Announcement Date November 23, 2009
  • State Date April 15, 2010
